How To Cook Noodles

How To Cook Noodles

Fast, practical and loved by everyone, pasta is not a difficult dish to cook, but it is important to be aware of some important tips to be worthy of a “nonna”.

1 - Lots of water,  salt and no oil

The ideal is to put 1 liter of water in the pan for every 100g of dough, nothing to save.

Salt should be added to the water as soon as it starts to boil and, under no circumstances, use oil or olive oil (except for stuffed pasta). It only serves to make the noodles heavy!

2 – Whole pasta and boiling water

The noodles should only be placed in the water when it is boiling. And don't break the dough: put them whole and keep stirring until they soften and fit in the pan.

3 – “Al dente”

The perfect spot for pasta is the “al dente”: cooked and firm pasta.

Each type has its ideal cooking time and it is super important to pay attention to the instructions on the package. Fresh pasta usually cooks a little longer.

4 – Drain, add the sauce and serve quickly

Good noodles are those that have just come out of the pan. If your dough is ready, drain without washing in cold water, mix in the sauce and serve.

If the dish has no sauce, it is important to add a little oil to the pasta so that it does not stick.

5 – And if left over?

Noodles are not that kind of food for the next day. But, if left over, keep the dough cold in the refrigerator and quickly place it in a pan of boiling water when reusing.

Ready! How about making your own pasta at home?
