How To Make Burger
A well-made burger can be as tasty a meal as a restaurant dish. But to do that, you need to forgo the convenience of fast food and frozen burger steaks – for a really good burger, you need to make your own steak.
The secret to a delicious burger steak is balancing lean meat with meat with more fat. It is very important to bring fat to the burger steak, otherwise it will be too dry and hard – and the burger sweet spot is moist and tender.
So don't worry that the burger won't be greasy, as the fat will melt when you roast or fry it, giving the meat a lot of flavor. To make the homemade burger, we will use the following ingredients:
- 500 grams of ground beef or prime stew or a lean meat like duckling
- 500 grams of ground beef or second-rate stew or meat with more fat
- 1 large white onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
The preparation is relatively simple: the first step is to chop the onion and garlic finely, very small. Then, in a large bowl, mix the two types of meat, the chopped onion and the chopped garlic cloves with your hands.
Mix it well! Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix again.
Now just take the meat and shape it in the shape of a burger steak. To make it easier, we have a trick: separate another small bowl and after taking a "hand" of meat, make a ball and throw it into that bowl.
It's for shooting anyway, so leave it on a surface that won't break or fall. This will help to compress the burger so it doesn't break into pieces.
Shape your burger steaks as you wish. With this amount of meat, you can make up to 10 steaks of 100 grams more or less thick, but it is also possible to make more or less, it's up to you.
If you like, you can also freeze these burger steaks for weeks in the freezer – and you don't have to thaw each one before putting it in the oven or frying pan, take it out of the freezer and put it directly on the fire. To freeze the burger steaks, after shaping, wrap with plastic wrap carefully so that no part is uncovered.
To bake, place in a very hot oven in a pan with a drop of oil for about 20 minutes – adjust to desired meat point. You can also fry it: to do this, use a non-stick pan, leave it very hot, add the oil and fry one or two steaks at a time.
When frying, at first, the burger steak will stick to the pan, but don't worry, it will soon come loose. When this happens, turn and do the same on the other side.
Now you just have to assemble the complete burger your way. For something very classic and simple, we recommend starting with bread, mayonnaise, lettuce, burger, tomato, red onion, and melted cheese!
